Bart, can you elaborate and add STR and Actual Results, or a screenshot? It's not clear to me which part of the UI you are talking about.
Hi Thomas, It's not a bug, more a feature request (or is there a another place where these belong ?). When customizing the toolbar in Thunderbird, you can choose for an item 'Mail Views'. It gives you a list of predefined custom views, but you can also choose to customise yourself. That brings up the windows I took a screenshot of (cfr. attachment). The window on the right lets you choose filter criteria, but it would be nice if there was also a way to define sort settings and which columns to display. The easiest way to accomplish this would be to copy the settings of the current view, that way you don't have to make a window with all possible choices. ... Just an idea ...

Thanks Bart for immediate & informative reply. I now understand the idea of your RFE, and it sounds reasonable to me. Your best bet for realization is to volunteer for coding this yourself.
You can use "Saved Search" as a workaround for remembering sort order per-saved-search-folder. Strangely, columns are not remembered on a per-folder basis.
