Details

Kannan tells me that we expected sunspider to regress less than 6%, so I'm filing this bug to track down why that happened, and hopefully decide how to deal with it.

Ehsan, I suspect we do not need to track this for FF18's Release as this is a DUP of a meta bug Bug 777561 and none of the dependencies in that bug are tracked for FF18 .
Will go ahead and untrack it shortly . Let me know if this needs to be tracked for some reason. Thanks !
We should track _something_ to make sure we don't end up shipping this regression. I don't particularly care if it's this bug or another.
Testing on my local Windows machine, Firefox 18 is 3.5% slower on SunSpider than Firefox 17. My gut instinct is that this regression, while unfortunate, is acceptable for shipping IonMonkey. It's not clear there are any glaring wins we can get in the immediate future, and right now we're more concerned on getting larger wins on the V8 Benchmark.

Long-term, the new baseline compiler (bug 805241) should help by eliminating baseline recompilations.
This does not seem actionable at this point based on comment 4, hence not tracking for release
