Steps to reproduce:

i have lots of emails with logs in plain text in the body (300kb) that i want to delete


Actual results:

if i select them all (about 200 mails), tb freezes and it takes minutes until i can continue.
(i have a fast computer)

This is probably bug 782899, fixed for 15.0.1 and on beta and alpha.

Please upgrade to TB15.0.1 and see if the problem is still there.

i already have 15.

but after a TB restart the problem seems to be gone.

it seems like the problem was something different, that tb was nearly hanging for a minute.

i could imagine maybe because all these 200 messages were all new .
i was viewing at them the first time and they came all in during that day. so they maybe they were jet not indexed by the search index? and when i marked them for deletion i had to wait until the 200MB text inside them was indexed?

15 is not the same as 15.0.1. Please see in Help->About Thunderbird which exact version you have.

ah i see, you mean 15.0.1 ? i have only 15.0.
but i think i had that sometimes already on 14.0.

i will try to find out what else could be the cause of the lack...

The let your TB update to 15.0.1 or if you are on a Linux distribution, wait until they push the update.

I had the problem again today, still in Thunderbird 15.0:
with only one log-email-message of these many i suspected. it has 2.6MB in plain text, and i think, that's the problem

i corrected the bug title cause the bug seems to be just in the size of one message

There were 2 bugs fixed in TB15.0.1, one was with viewing large messages and one was with selecting multiple messages of moderate size. You may be seeing both of them. So we know about those 2 problem. We just need you to wait until you get the update to TB15.0.1 and tell us if you also see those problems fixed there.
