The Swiss Mozilla community is currently using Google Groups to host a mailing list:
https://groups.google.com/group/MozillaCH
[e-mail]

It would be great if we could have an original @lists.mozilla.org hosted group:
[e-mail]

Would this be possible?

The correct name for this group, to match the many others, would be:
mozilla.community.switzerland
(mailing list form: [e-mail]).

Assuming that's OK, we can go right ahead.

Hi Henrik, Google Groups syncing can take as much as 1 more week, but Giganews and the Mailing list should be working within another day or so. Sorry for the delay.

may I kindly ask if everything is okay with the setup of mozilla.communities.switzerland? The newsgroup was created but unfortunately I cannot post to it. Also mails to [e-mail] are bounced.

did you find any bugs in the mailing list setup? I still can't post via NNTP and get the following error when sending an email to the list:

Hi Henrik, sorry for being quiet.

Last week we did detect a problem that might have caused syncing problems, but that was fixed. Since this list was not created on Monday in google groups, I have sent them an email on Tuesday requesting this list be looked into.

The list is functional, but the Archive link will take you to a blank Google Groups page. any posts made via nntp or email will work for the interim.

Again, sorry this has gotten dragged out. I'll let you know when I hear back from Google.

Hi Michael,

are you sure posting via email or NNTP works?
I tried both and it does NOT work for me. Unfortunately Thunderbird does not give me an error message for NNTP but my message simply does not show up.

For email I still get the same error:

Hi Henrik. This appears to be a postfix problem affecting one other list. I'm working on it now. Sorry for the trouble.

fwiw, Google Groups has already been contacted, so hopefully both issues will be resolved shortly.

I just tested this and normal mail and NNTP works for me. The only problem for me is that the Google Group does not exist yet.

Henrik,

Our inside man at Google has confirmed the list is in the transit server and ready to go live. Google Groups has not run the data migration to push their data live. This was confirmed at the beginning of December and I have asked for a reconfirmation/ETA.

I am closing this bug as I have no more action to take. Please reopen if this does not get resolved in the coming couple weeks.
