Opening bug to track creating a Lithuanian localization of the Get Involved page. We can look at scheduling this after the initial PT and ES localizations of the page are live.
Locale: lt / Lithuanian
Rimas, the files are in your repo: the page itself: http://viewvc.svn.mozilla.org/vc/projects/mozilla.com/trunk/locales/lt/mozorg/ email templates sent automatically: http://viewvc.svn.mozilla.org/vc/projects/mozilla.com/trunk/locales/zh-CN/emails/ Note that there will be updates to the page in the coming weeks Thanks
contribute.lang is updated with the newly added paragraphs, please svn update your local copy, thanks.
David, Pascal, thanks! I'll try to find time to get to this bug soon.

Rimas, Just checking in to see the status of this.
Postponed. But still on my radar. :)
OS: Mac OS X → All
Hardware: x86 → All
For the record, I have translated about 50% of contribute.lang in r114784. I hope to find some more time and motivation soon
mozorg/contribute.lang finished in r114977. Is there a way to see the result? Also, Pascal, regarding the email templates that you have pointed out to: I think you pasted a wrong URL. I have nothing to do with zh_CN, and that directory doesn't exist in lt. I can create it, but I need English templates anyway.
Here is the result: https://www-dev.allizom.org/lt/contribute/ The staging server for localizers for mozilla.org is almost always www-dev.allizom.org, except for special projects that require a separate demo server (like MWC site this year). Emails are now there: http://viewvc.svn.mozilla.org/vc/projects/mozilla.com/trunk/locales/lt/templates/mozorg/emails/
Hm, I've figured that out. Email templates are in templates/mozorg/emails, and I have already checked what the result looks like on https://www-dev.allizom.org/lt/contribute/ . However, I have a few more questions: 1) comment #0 here mentions a video. I can see the video in the aforementioned web page, however, it seems to have been removed for other locales (I've looked at en-US and es-ES). Will lt be synced with those changes? If yes, who will do that, if no, why? 2) a template for localization-related email is not available in my repo. In fact, it's the only template that I'm really interested in, because I'm not sure if it would make any sense to localize other templates, yet ask the receiver to respond in English. I could probably change a few of them to focus on mozilla.lt instead of mozilla.com, but I'm not quite sure if that's the right thing to do anyway...

If yes, who will do that, if no, why? No, the other locales you looked are participating in the 15 years of Mozilla campaign which sends all the traffic to the contribute page, during the course of this campaign, they have a different template, when the campaign is over, their page will be back to normal, that is the version you have. > 2) a template for localization-related email is not available in my repo. In > fact, it's the only template that I'm really interested in, because I'm not > sure if it would make any sense to localize other templates, yet ask the > receiver to respond in English. You don't have to *translate* the templates, you put in these templates whatever you think is best for your locale. You could also have a single text explaining everything that you could put in each template. Note that technically, the email templates don't need to exist for the page to work, in French we currently don't use any, we prefer for now answer each person individually through a mailing list (but we are about 10 people to answer).
(In reply to Rimas Kudelis from comment #9) > 2) a template for localization-related email is not available in my repo. In > fact, it's the only template that I'm really interested in You can see the text for the English localization auto-response at https://github.com/mozilla/bedrock/blob/master/apps/mozorg/templates/mozorg/emails/localization.txt
OK, and how do I translate the video? Also, I wonder how visible this page will end up being. mozilla.org doesn't have a home page in Lithuanian, and the Firefox home page still features old design (which seems to be breaking more and more as time goes – e.g. right now the blue footer bar is empty (used to contain links) and there's a weird light-blue line between the download button and the three boxes at the bottom. I can't find a link to the contribute page in any visible place... By the way, and this probably mandates a separate bug, I'm not fond of a way en-US takes over the user once they visit a non-localized page. Just clicking on the "Mobile" menu item is enough to end up in the English version of the website, without any obvious way back to the localized site.
(In reply to Rimas Kudelis from comment #12) > OK, and how do I translate the video? The video can't be translated right now. Bug 769715 is open to add Universal Subtitles support to the page. > Also, I wonder how visible this page will end up being. We're happy to help you promote this once it's live if you would like more people to get in touch with you about contributing.
Hi Rimas, do you have any update about this bug? Missing steps to close this bug: * the Get involved page is currently using a new template for 15 Years, so there's another file to localize: http://svn.mozilla.org/projects/mozilla.com/trunk/locales/en-GB/mozorg/15years.lang * generate a localized banner for the 15 years template * localize email templates for auto-replies * decide the mail address to be used as a recipient for these requests
Hi Francesco, 1-2) your comment contradicts Pascal's comment#14 3) I'm hoping to do that at some point... I guess I'll just go with one minimal text after all. 4) that should be my email address.
(In reply to Rimas Kudelis from comment #15) > Hi Francesco, > 1-2) your comment contradicts Pascal's comment#14 You mean comment #10? At that time the 15 years template was supposed to stay online for a short period of time (a month), current plans are to keep it in use for a longer period (probably until next March). This doesn't mean that the page can't go live with the old template. Right now you need to decide if you plan to localize the 15 years template or prefer to go online with the old template ;-) > 4) that should be my email address. Ok.
We don't recommend personal email addresses, but rather an alias that more than one person can be on. Even if it is only you right now, that might change soon - we hope!
Attached image Localized banner
Localized banner based on you current localization (15years.lang). Is this correct? I had to change font for the Ų, since the current one doesn't have that character.

Comment on attachment 771811 [details] Localized banner It's great, thanks! Will you commit the file, or shall I do that?

Assigning the bug to myself so I remember to check it in the next days. The page should go live during next week. For auto-replies (templates): you can localize them whenever you want. When I see a localized file, I'll push it to prod. It will be a quick process since it's just SVN.

I've commited a small change in r117829. Can we please have that pushed as well?
Done in r117833 (leave time to the cache to expire). From now on all changes will be like other changes to .lang files on SVN: all updated files will be periodically moved to stage/production (usually daily), if something's urgent you can open a bug to request a push.
You need to log in before you can comment on or make changes to this bug.
