A CouchBase aware Python memcache library is available. The Sync servers are currently using Moxi proxy to direct the memcache traffic into CouchBase. Please investigate the benefits of adding this support to Sync. Removing the proxy may add speed, and reduce operational complexity.

See documentation here: http://www.couchbase.com/docs/couchbase-sdk-python-1.0/index.html
