User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:15.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/15.0.1
Build ID: 20120911180625
Steps to reproduce:
I download messages from my Gmail address via POP to my local folders; I have some filters which then move messages in the proper subfolder.
Actual results:
All messages in some subfolders appear twice for some days before the update to 15.0.1 and after the update to 15.0.0 (all August till 10-15 September or so). The problem seems to have appeared only after the update to 15.0.1, but just for messages downloaded with 15.0.0.
The problem doesn't reside in Gmail or the mailing lists, I checked.
Expected results:
No duplicate messages should ever be created by Thunderbird.

Federico, do you still see this problem?

Summary: Thunderbird duplicates messages in the same folder → Thunderbird duplicates filtered messages in local folder
Whiteboard: [closeme 2014-03-01]
It didn't happen en mass again during any of the following upgrades. I seem to recall it happened occasionally (i.e. once every few months perhaps) since then, but I'm not sure. I delete the duplicates so any test case is probably gone, but I may try to do a run of "Remove Duplicate Messages (Alternate)" tonight when CPU idles.
