To keep a better overview, this bug is about the actual assets needed for the first implementation of the video-banner-technology on the mozilla.org slideshow (Flicks Promo). (The creation of the technology is happens in bug:796049 )

E.g. copy, localisation, videos, graphics - all here. I hope this makes sense.
**Deadline
We would like to have this done by the end of January 2013.

**Copy
We would like this banner to promote Flicks 2013, along with a 2012 winner ("Paranoid"). Matej - Would you please suggest an sentence for this? We'll also need a Twitter-share-text, no longer than 119 characters.

**Videos
Can we have this video-banner in 5 different locales as well? We would like to use the "Paranoid" video for this, in 5 locales (EN, DE, FR, ES, PT).

Besides the localized copy (to be made) I am also going to provide 5 different videos, where the subtitles are already embedded.

Once we have figured-out the preferred video-size for this banner (via dev-bug), I will post them here.
How about one of these (headline variations)? They're all short enough that they would work on Twitter as well.

Hi Matej - Thanks so much for those lines, I think we can still use them at some point, but we have decided to use the teaser-video (Rainer) here now insted.

So - Would you please provide us a new line matching the teaser video?

Content could be e.g.: Firefox Flicks 2013 is here; have a glimpse as last years winners; get inspired; CTA: Check out firefoxflicks.org

Of course, all of that won't be possible ;)
Thanks!!

Hey Tobi. Happy to help, but I'm not sure how the direction here is different from the lines in comment 2, other than referencing several videos vs. one. Can you clear that up, please?
Right, the difference is it'll be a whole bunge of scenes in one video. The teaser video is a promotion itself, not a "winning entry". Hope that helps.
Hey Tobi. Here are some new options for this that reference and tie in to the promo video.

Matej - I checked with Kristin and we're set on #3:

Thanks!
We might be able to away without a separate design bug if what you see in this screenshot looks ok. This is the copy from this bug with the background curtains image from the current flicks site (is that site keeping this visual style).

The thumbnail is just from a demo video and would change depending on the final video for this promo.
Hi Steven. Looks good, though the style of the site is quite different this year.

Tara, is this something Matt could help with?

Kristin & Tobi, are we OK with the small screen/big screen line in this promo since it also shows up in the video? Otherwise, here's some alt copy (also changing the body copy to be more clear that it's a video contest):

You're the director. Mobile is the star.
Enter Firefox Flicks, a global video contest about the power of mobile.

I should also note that when you click the video - it zooms out to a larger view, hiding the first and secondary headlines, but keeping the final link texts ("Watch the video >>").

This made a bit more sense with our temporary link text ("Visits Firefox Flicks >>").
We need to change the headline to the new copy Matej mentions in comment 10.

Thanks.
re: comment #7 , I still don't have a design bug on file for this (and linked to the tracking bug) therefore as of now I have no design in process for this banner. Please be sure to file and flag asap. Thanks.

I'll ask. Thanks Matej.

I just filed the design bug and assigned to Matt, tied to this bug and the creative tracking bug -> please cc yourself to the bug if you aren't already and would like to be. Bug #831063
FYI: Here's the final video file, good to go!

Thanks. We need to get this file in the right sizes/formats and uploaded to videos.mozilla.org. That isn't something I have the access/tools to do. Rainer?
Adding Rainer. Rainer, can you work with Steven on this? He needs the teaser video in a proper size and uploaded to videos.mozilla.org

Steven - What *is* the right size / format for this? Please let us know.

Also Steven - Please see this bug for the background graphic. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=831063 It looks done, but I think you should communicate with the designer Matt on last details now. E.g. isn't the copy supposed to be HTML, or will it stay in the banner? My feeling is HTML would make localisation easier.

Localisation is also missing, but I think we might have the same strings translated already somewhere else. Will look into this.

The largest the video plays in the site is 853-wide by 480-tall (except for full screen). Probably best to match this resolution exactly if possible.

I've posted a comment on the design bug - the diagonal text complicates things if we need to work in IE7/8.
Sorry for cross-post:

Here is the "new final" download-link, forget all the others. This'll be it. It's version 11. http://www.fixedearthfilms.com/mozilla/FireFoxFlicks_2013_V11.mov
All: we should not be loading videos up on videos.mozilla.org because that is non-SSL and is blocking us from switching mozilla.org to forced SSL. The videos should be updated and referenced from videos-cdn.mozilla.net.
Rainer will be uploading the videos from comment 21 to videos-cdn.mozilla.net shortly and posting the URLs in here.
I think we've got everything.
