User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:16.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/16.0 Build ID: 20121024073032 Steps to reproduce: Hi, I have closed the mouse reaction bug for Firefox 11, https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=745433 saying that it has gone in later versions. However, in Firefox 16 I experienced freezing when using Flash, which were caused by Flash protected mode http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/929081 Turning the protected mode off eliminates the freezing but the mouse reaction problem comes back! So, I must have one problem or the other.
It's a flash player bug if you can change the behavior with enabling/disabling the protected mode in flash.

Ok, it is Adobe flash problem. Is it the reason that I do not have it when Flash is running in the Internet Explorer?
So what is this bug about precisely? If it's about the freezing, you need to help provide steps to reproduce, or if it happens all the time, please use nightly/aurora and submit a hang report which can help diagnose. Reopen this bug if necessary but please provide a better bug summary. If this is about the mouse reaction issue with protected mode off, please just reopen the other bug.

I say that currently there is no way to use the flash smoothly. It is up to developers to decide what the bug there is depending on how they plan to use the flash. If flush will be used in protected mode, then there is freezing problem. If in unprotected then there is mouse listening problem. If in both, there are two problems. None of the problems exist in IE. Why when I say that one bug was replaced with the other, you tell me to open another bug case?

There is not enough information in this bug report to be useful. If you are trying to file a bug about Flash hanging, you need to provide steps to reproduce, or links to the plugin hang/crash reports, etc. In this state there is no way for a volunteer/engineer to actually work on this bug.
http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/929081 is an official Mozilla solution to the freezing problem. If you know that ProtectedMode=0 solves the problem that how you do not know how to reproduce it? What is a hang report? How can I describe the mouse listening problem more precisely? If nobody wants to fix the bug it does not mean that it ceases to exist. I report just for the developers to know that the problem exists. I do not know how it is good to discard this information.
If Flash completely freezes for you, it should be getting killed after 45sec (default). You can then send the report for this: http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/send-plugin-crash-reports-help-improve-firefox ... and, if needed, refer to these reports: http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Mozilla%20Crash%20Reporter#w_viewing-crash-reports Looks like the mouse issue is already covered by bug 690744.
Flash freezing lasts no longer than couple of seconds. The mouse issue describe there tells that it displays some controls in wrongs scale. I do not see this. I see that mouse events often do not reach the contorls.
