.vcf files using text/directory MIME aren't treated as VCARD entries

I'm using Thunderbird 19.0a2 (2012-11-29), and when I send a .vcf file from my desktop, it uses the MIME type "Content-Type: text/directory;" and doesn't allow me to see VCARDs I send from my own machine. If I go through and delete the application helper for text/Directory, then it sends it as text/x-vcard and I can see it correctly.
Is this part of bug 60936 where they want to enable text/directory to properly define VCARD files? If so, it should take "Content-Type: text/directory;" and not with that "profile=vcard" part.
If not, why are we picking text/directory as the MIME type for a new email attachment being sent from the windows desktop? How do I make files I sent use the x-vcard type, without disabling my ability to use the text/directory VCARDs sent from other people?
So THIS is why sometimes vCards are displayed inline and I can't add them...
Would be nice to get this fixed...
Copy/paste from the TB support list for completeness.
I agree with PS56K (the one who posted this):
"just thought I would also add the RFC info here -
https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc6350#section-10.1
even if the "text/directory" is deprecated,
I personally feel ALL the MIME info types
should be included in TB to properly decode attached VCF files
coming from ... millions of Apple iPhones/iPads -"

This bug is the issue of sending a vcard from TB and the MIME used not being the same as the MIME the TB vcard viewer uses.
Issues with receiving vcards are independent and not covered by this bug.
This bug requires Q/A triage for verification of a bug before resetting status as new.

I think time has taken care of this and it's not really seen in the wild anymore.
