User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:17.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/17.0
Build ID: 20121128204232

Steps to reproduce:

Trying to access MDN wiki page was forced into registration. Registered with alt. email (admin@rushyo.com), intending to link to MDN account (opensource@rushyo.com) later.

Actual results:

Found I can't continue without linking to an MDN profile, but there's no interface to link with my MDN profile so I'm unable to use MDN without creating a new MDN profile (which I do not want to do).

Expected results:

Ideally shouldn't be forced in to creating a registration item for what should be a publicly accessible resource (what's the point of a public API wiki that can't be indexed by spiders?!).

Failing that, want to be able to link my MDN (opensource@rushyo.com) with my Persona (admin@rushyo.com).

As an aside, it would be nice if I wasn't forced to access my emails just to access MDN for the 'first time'. My personal email server (the one I use for Mozilla stuff) is blocked at work. I had to bypass our corporate proxy just to create a Persona. This is a horrendous UX.
Ah. Turns out it only forces you in to registration if you follow a broken link (of course, you have no way to know it's broken). So every link I was accessing was forcing me to register because it assumed I wanted to edit something. There was no way to know this is what was happening without trying links from different sites.
Thanks for the report, Danny. I have opened bug 820442 about the usability issue you mentioned. Is there anything else I can do to help you with your login issue?
