Details

Steps to reproduce: 1) Surf to a new location 2) Click on the bookmark item left of the URL name in the Urlbar 3) Drag the bookmark to the Bookmarks button in the personal toolbar 4) Drop the bookmark on the Bookmark button Expected result: The bookmark dropped on the Bookmarks button is added to the end of the Bookmarks list. Actual result: The bookmark is (sometimes) added to the Personal toolbar, and sometimes nothing happens at all. It seems the action is dependant of the position above the Bookmark button when the bookmark is dropped. When moving the bookmark over the Bookmark the caption of the bookmark seems to 'wobble': Dropping the bookmark on the bookmark icon on the button adds it to the personal toolbar, dropping it on the right half of the button does nothing at all.
Reporter : which build are you using ? Because that's bug 46456 and it has been recently fixed.
Sorry, Windows 2000 build 2001052104. This is another bug surfacing after bug 46456 was fixed.
Indeed. Confirming on 2001052104 win98 Don't know if you're normally able to drop a bookmark where the bookmark menu and the home button are though

dnd on the Home button works fine. Dropping a bookmark on the home button gives a dialog 'Do you want this document to be your new home page?' and it sets the homepage correctly.
maybe dropping the proxy icon on the bookmarks folder could fire up the add bookmark dialog (just another of my silly ideas that mpt would shoot me for)
See also bug 53707, RFE: dragging a link over bookmarks button should open menu.
Worksforme now that bug 53707 is fixed. Dragging over the bookmark button now causes the bookmarks menu to open, and you can drag into the menu.
