The chat window is really hard to notice, especially on pages that are already largely text. I had a chat window popup a few minutes ago -- didn't recognize the sound, and spend a couple minutes looking through apps / notifications / tabs to see what the heck was beeping at me.
Some kind of stronger visual appearance would be most helpful -- darker border, drop shadow, colored border, something.

s/colored border/colored titlebar/ (for the floating "window"), but I guess either would help. :)
Also, wasn't looking at my screen when this happened, but a zoom/slide animation would also help with making new chat windows more visible, at least when they first open.
