Using build 1999061409 If you go to a page that has anchor's on it and click on a link to go to them instead of simply scrolling down the page to where the anchor is it will reconect the site to load that page then go down to where the anchor points to. This slows down the loading of the page

A DOM problem? desale, do you see this too?
I tested it on Win-95 as well as Win-98. On Win-95, links seem pretty dead. After clicking nothing happens. On Win-98, The process seem real slow and it does make feel that its reloading the page. But I don't think its actually reconnecting and reloading the page. Its really slow though.
I think this is a dup of bug#3152

Yes...looks like a dup...chrisd? Your thought? Verify as a dup? *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 3152 ***
I don't understand how this is a duplicate of #3152. There were 3 problems with bug #3152 (see 7/15 comments on that bug). Problems 2 & 3 were written up as new bugs #9951 and #9952. Problem #1 was that clicking on 'Back' after clicking on a named anchor forced a reload. This problem was fixed (tested with large image). That problem doesn't seem to be the same as this one but maybe I don't fully understand this problem - and that problem has been fixed. Please advise.

OK, verifying bug dup of #3152 (now fixed) regarding the issue of clicking on a name anchor which forces a reload
