Steps to reproduce:

After some text was typed, pressed Ctrl-A and then re-sized it to the desired size.  Then continued typing to just add more text, and also the "backspace" and "delete" keys were used to correct mistakes.

Pressed Ctrl-A on the text of Screenshot #1 & then clicked the button for "Smaller Font Size."

Ctrl-Z to undo the change of Screenshot #2.  Then highlighted the first few lines of text and clicked the button for "Larger Font Size".

The text where the backspacing & deleting & re-typing had been done.  The size-change varies as the line continues.

The letter 'w' that starts the word "weirdness" & then the lower curve of the letter 'e'.  To the right of this that the left-right scrollbar must be used in the Composition Window to even see it, is the rest of the word "weirdness" with the size being monstrous.

The size is normal again because this portion of text had no backspacing & deleting & re-typing & no selecting of text to re-size it.  Only the few lines that I selected were made bigger.  The large empty space above the contiguous equal signs is because of the hugeness of the word "weirdness" just above it.

When I was writing the description, I was so focused on just the details that I forgot about this that I wanted to add at the end:

1) I've been experiencing this font-size problem for a very long time through many versions of both Seamonkey & Thunderbird.  Because of my busy at-home schedule away from work with different things my time is occupied by, I've simply done my best to just work with this & do size changes as I've written e-mails in the hopes it works out OK on the receiving end.  Now finally I've been able to take the time to report these findings with the needed screenshots in order to be thorough, although I'm baffled as to why nobody has reported these size problems because these same font size problems have kept on.

2) I'm submitting a Seamonkey bug next with a sequence of screenshots as in this Thunderbird bug, that is similar to this Thunderbird bug but with it's own variations that make it unique enough.  And it was because of realizing that bug when I immediately stopped using Seamonkey for e-mail and switched to Thunderbird because at least the Thunderbird font-size bug can be worked with for being basically predictable for what the recipient will see on their end.

This is fixed in trunk builds.
Unfortunately, the fix has not been approved for more current branches.
Feel free to comment on the duped bug.
