Steps to reproduce:

I try to sync my bookmarks phone x pc and pc x pc and it is not easy...


Actual results:

i cannot sync sync and I use another brorser to do this job


Expected results:

I have a Idea.
To migrate the the way the firefox the bookmarks and addons , that use "mozilla sync" autentication to use "mozilla persona" autentication.

I'm not using Firefox anymore
Now I am using google chrome to this job and home because is more easy manage my, it is just need to login with my google account.
I need mobility and i cannot lost time

When you fix it, let us, old mozilla fans know about this change

Using persona would mean that Mozilla would be able to decrypt your private data.
It's one of the main goals of the sync service that you private data is safe and that Mozilla can not access the data.
Google can access your private data (passwords, bookmarks, history) if you use their sync service (AFAIK).
In my personal opium it's unbelievable that people use the google service.

Changing this would upset many of our users and would be a big privacy issue.

Note that we plan to address setup complexity in a privacy-preserving manner in the next two quarters. See Bug 744321.

This might or might not share underpinnings with Persona.

Mozilla will improve the current setup (see comment#2) with it will never be a simple login that you want because that would be a privacy issue. Privacy is an important thing for majority of our users. violating the thrust of our users into Mozilla is a simple no-go.

you can of course always change the browser if you don't care about privacy at all.

We are open to any ideas to improve the sync setup and UI as long as it doesn't violate the privacy of the users data.

What you suggest would make it impossible to preserve the privacy and that's the reason why I marked this report wontfix.

I moved the bug to the right component so that the right people like Richard notice this report and they could reopen it if necessary.
