UI for Pause/Resume in Download Progress Window
bug 78193 and bug 67216 aknowlede the need for UI for pause and resume of
downloads. Aparently the backend is done and the UI is not (or unfinished). This
bug is to implement a good UI for pause and resume of downloads (hopefully also
for mail attachments).
Suggested UI:
Only ONE button that says <Pause> (when pause is possible, otherwise button
could be invisible). The <Pause> button turns into a <Resume> button while paused.
It would also be nice if a warning came up if user clicks on <Cancel>: "This
download is not yet completed. Are you sure you want to cancel this download?"

um, there already _is_ a UI for this..
Example, go to ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla/nightly/latest-trunk and click
on any file, you'll get the window with the resume/pause button. The other
download windows don't have it i believe, but there is a bug about combining
them (67216).
invalid I suggest...

NO, on build 2001-05-29 when i download the file you suggested, the download
window ONLY has a <Cancel> button!
Is it maybe because I clicked the file while holding the SHIFT key? I have to do
that because i have the GetRight plugin for Opera installed, and GetRight would
take over the download if i just clicked the file link.

There are currently two download dialogs. One has the pause/resume button. The
other does not. The "other" is the one you get when you use Shift-click. The
first one is what you get when you just click.
This bug is about _improving_ the existing UI as opposed to creating a UI. If
the UI looks like http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/showattachment.cgi?attach_id=32664
then this bug is probably valid (and should be over in UI design land). If UI
design is happy with the dialog's UI this is just a duplicate of bug 67216.
Reassigning to UI Design.

Improving the existing pause/resume UI is being done in bug 67216 as well, as
noted in my 2001-05-07 comment. So this would appear to be a typical Peter Lairo
duplicate.

In Peter's defense, I would like to add that he posted a comment in bug 67216,
asking if that bug would cover the improvements to the pause/resume UI. I didn't
see anyone jump to give him a definitive answer.
