Details

Win32 build 2001053004 I can move one email to a different folder at a time, and everything works ok. If I select two emails to move to a different folder (or try to delete two selected emails), then Mailer's activity bar starts but nothing happens (I stopped waiting after a minute). Stop button doesn't stop this spinning. If you close the mailer application and then reload it, sometimes you cannot delete/move individual emails. If you close all of Mozilla dow and reload, then you are back to "normal." This will affect your ability to move more than one piece of mail at a time which in turn affects your ability to delete more than one piece of mail at a time.

reporter, Can you give us some more information as to when you get into this state. It would help if you have some reproducible steps. The reason being in your description you have mentioned that the work around is to restart the application and you are able to move and delete messages. I am sure this bug is a dup of bug 79222 or bug 74591. Are you moving messages from imap folders or pop folders? Does it matter from which folder to which folder you see move fails? Or just about any folder gets into a state where you cannot move?
It's a POP account 1) Go to Inbox in Mailer browser format (doesn't really matter which folder) 2) Select at least two messages 3) Try to move all the messages into the Trash (hitting the delete button on the toolbar) or another folder (drag and drop to a folder or use the File button in the mail browser toolbar to select a folder.) 4) Mozilla's activity meter will start throbbing but nothing happens. <I am sure this bug is a dup of bug 79222 or bug 74591.> It could be. I can drag and drop individual emails to different folders, and I can delete individual emails. This problem only occurs if I select more than one message to either be transferred to a different folder or deleted. But it seems more like the Mailer is having troubles moving more than one message to a destination folder than it does a pure delete or drag-n-drop problem. For instance, if I select two messages, and then try moving the files via the File button in the toolbar, nothing happens. I was looking at it some more, and sometimes, a partial transfer of messages does occur. For instance, if I select two messages to move to a new folder (drag and drop), and let it spin for 30-120 seconds, then one message will make it. However, this is not apparent at the time of the transfer. If you check the destination folder after 2 minutes, then nothing is there. It's only when you quit Mozilla and go back into the destination folder will you see one of your messages. <Does it matter from which folder to which folder you see move fails?> No. I've tried moving mail between Inbox, trash, sent, etc. It doesn't matter from where to where.
