*** observed with 2001-05-31-04 build **** Steps to reproduce: - export/save your ldif ( or csv) ab file in 4.x with non-ascii name "non-ascii.ldif" - compose a new mail in 6.1 , attach a file "non-ascii.ldif" ( or non-ascii.csv) - get message; //note: wrong display of the file name ( it looks like we are saving ab files in 4.x in UTF-8) screen shot to follow..
I think this is a generic attachment file name bug, not specific to ldif, right? I think there is a bug filed for that.
i think all problems we had were with file name display on forwarding/replying, i don't recall a problem with html or txt attached files ( the non-ascii.html or nonascii.txt display their names OK on the envelope )
dup of bug 75449 (or bug 77217)?
those two bugs deal with forwarding or quoting, this one doesn't go that far: you attach the ldif/csv file and you see the wrong display when you get it ( before forwardsing/editing), if the same function is involved in both scenarios then it's a dup
Marina, could you try the same procedure with non-ascii.txt?
non-ascii txt has no display problem
Reassign to putterman, looks like this is a ldif specific problem.

Jean-Francois, did this get fixed with your attachment fixes?
Target Milestone: mozilla0.9.7 → mozilla0.9.9
no idea.
i'll test it with the next build
removing jenm as a cc and adding kmurray
i don't see this happening any more, probably the general fix for attachment file names took care of this one as well, though there is another problem of the contents of the attached non-ascii ldif: the non-ascii card's display is wrong. I'll see if there is a bug filed on this ( i think we have one) , if not i'll file one
