User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:10.0.12) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/10.0.12
Build ID: 20130103094221
Steps to reproduce:
I'm on TB 17.0esr with Dropbox for Filelink 1.0.1.
I created an email with an attachment, which was to be uploaded to my dropbox instead of beeing attached to the mail.
Actual results:
The attachment was uploaded to dropbox AND attached to the mail.
Expected results:
The attachment should have been removed from the mail body and not send by mail.

Confirming with Thunderbird 17.0.4 on Windows XP SP3 and YouSendIt.
The attachment is 0 bytes here and has the name "Teil 1.2" ("Part 1.2"), so maybe there is a conflict between filelink and sending as plaintext or both plaintext and html.

I just experienced the same issue with a Thunderbird 31.8.0.
Instead of Dropbox, I'm using the "DL for Thunderbird" plugin from
http://www.thregr.org/~wavexx/software/dl/thunderbird.html
Otherwise, the symptom is the same: both the uploaded file's link on the server _AND_ the attached file are transferred in the mail.
The problem appears with files from pure network share filenames like "\\Fileserver1\F\roland\test.exe". Local files, e.g. f:\roland\test.exe, are working fine.
Is this the same issue?

Same with Thunderbird 38.1.0.

Neither of these are in thunderbird core.
