See also bug 831501 I was unlucky enough to get my first Tab Groups experience ruined by upgrading nightly earlier that didn't add the Tab Groups button but added "Tab Groups" option in the "List all tabs" drop down menu. This meant I had no idea how to get back to the Tab Groups view when I created a new tab group. If we could warn the user that the button is missing on the toolbar and offer to add it that would certainly be awesome.
We removed tab groups, so this bug is no longer valid, unfortunately.
