Steps to reproduce:

1. From the home screen, pan to Everything.Me
2. Select Movies, then Deadline Hollywood.
3. Observe the site for about a minute as it loads.
Actual results:
After about a minute of loading the site, the screen turns white then returns to the homescreen. Panning back to Everything.Me will show the "Loading..." screen again.
Expected results:
The Deadline Hollywood page loads without errors.

This looks like a potential candidate for blocklisting for v1.0.1 - Lawrence can you confirm if that is the best option.

An UA override was added recently for Txt2Nite in bug 843204 that should address this issue.

How would we blocklist a site on Firefox OS? Do we have a mechanism in place for blocking Web content by domain? (Seems like a scary proposition.)
Everything.me can remove breaking content from their search results. We should request the removal of any known bad content.
Joey - I don't see Gur listed in Bugzilla. Can you please pass this request along to him? Thanks.

Ah yes, that is what we were looking for, at least for v1.0.1 - the deeper issue of what is causing crashing should still be investigated but will not block.

Evyatar: can you add this to the e.me list of blocked search results for v1.0.1?

The NBA app in the Sports section appears to have this same issue. As it finishes loading, everything.me appears to crash.
There is also a picture on the main page that is not set for the dimensions of the phone screen, and it does not appear that the user is able to scroll left and right.
Found on Unagi with the following build:
Gecko: http://hg.mozilla.org/releases/mozilla-b2g18_v1_0_1/rev/3867fca22e3d
Gaia: a41c7921fbf0839b894f277261dad4a22507f979

An override was also added for nba.com in bug 843204.

Can you please file Tech Evangelism::Mobile bugs for each of these issues with nba.com?

Oh, sorry for not getting back to you here. First of all the "Deadline Hollywood" app actually doesn't crash on my Otoro...
But I do see it shows the non-mobile version, which probably means we either need to remove it from our index, or add a UA override (which can also fix the crash).
I'll try to get Gur, our content manager, on this ASAP.

Hi guys,
As for the deadline Hollywood app, we need you to add the url: http://m.deadline.com to the UA override.
As for the NBA site, they changed the URL to mi.nba.com. Lawrence - I've sent you an e-mail with that URL.
Regards,
Gur

Have you verified that the Deadline mobile site is functional in Firefox OS?

UA overrides are added on the top level domain. i.e. nba.com. No change should be required for internal site refactoring.

I verified that the UA override for deadline.com results in a functional mobile site on Firefox OS. Moreover, deadline.com now redirects to m.deadline.com (although it didn't seem to redirect in some of my tests - not sure why). I have opened bug 848858 to add the UA override. This bug can remain open to investigate why the deadline.com desktop site crashes the phone.
I am clearing the blocking-b2g flag in favour of blocking on bug 848858.

Loading crash also occurs with Pinterest, which is located in the Social folder.

Pinterest's crash is now a standalone defect, Bug 849001.

Lawrence- since this bug is now used to tracking the crash of the desktop version- who should this be assigned to?
Not relevant to e.me anymore I assume.

With the workaround in place this is likely a lower priority. I'm clearing the assigned to field for now.

I no longer see Deadline Hollywood in Everything.me, it seems to have been replaced with JoBlo Movie Network. Was that change supposed to happen?

Hi,
We've removed Deadline Hollywood from the launcher for FFox devices.
Didn't understand how you still get the icon's app of Deadline Hollywood.

Gur, I'm surprised to hear that you've removed this site from your index as we previously added an UA override to support this site in comment 14.

Hi Lawrence,
I've reinstated the site to show up in Firefox (after checking it with the UA you sent me).

Is that the mobile site or the desktop site?

It appears to be loading the mobile site now.

Yes it is because we added an UA override in bug 848858. This bug is tracking the crash of the desktop site, which can be tested by removing the UA override.

Issue no longer appears to be occurring on the Inari running the most current build from the commercial 1.0.1 branch:
Gecko: http://hg.mozilla.org/releases/mozilla-b2g18_v1_0_1/rev/9aaf82b015cf
Gaia: 50abeb2c622bfe48803b732776daecb2fa34e575
Build: 20130528070204
Deadline Hollywood loads properly and no longer seems to crash. I spent several minutes looking through various links on the site.
Resolving as works for me.

Verified in Unagi 1.1 mozilla RIL. Navigating around the Deadline Hollywood site does not cause any errors.
