User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.31 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/26.0.1410.12 Safari/537.31

Steps to reproduce:

downloaded thunderbird 17.0.3 ( also, any other from 17 to nightly ) from http://www.mozilla.org/de/thunderbird/?flang=de unpaked it and started with ./thunderbird . At first i had an error like this :

XPCOMGlueLoad error for file /home/ragnar/thunderbird/libxpcom.so:
libxul.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Couldn't load XPCOM.

to avoid that i used the LD_LIBRARY_PATH= trick described in Bug 723487.

Actual results:

thunderbird seems to start but it quits within a second

Expected results:

thunderbird starts
BTW: I've forgotten to tell you. When i start thunderbird, i get no messages at all. it just start and quits. I'm using Debian Linux unstable. Kernel 3.2.0-4-amd64
Do you still see this when using version 31?
