These add-ons, when installed from the linked installer, bypass about:newaddon

(at least one of these is a Conduit toolbar)
Incidentally, I could swear I already filed a bug for this, but I can't find it.

Anchorfree does ring a bell for me (bug 749648, bug 750003 and bug 764087).

Anyway, I contacted the developers. Let's see what they have to say about this.
