User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; rv:20.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/20.0 Build ID: 20130305164032 Steps to reproduce: XSLT 1.0 processing in the browser is not just 'so' last decade, but the version of XSLT was always woefully inadequate (and hobbled), contributing to its failure of widespread takeup. While broad adoption ship has sailed, I do think there is a significant body of xslt 2.0 users/developers who would benefit from simple upgrade to XSLT 2.0 processing. Expected results: seeking to incorporate XSLT 2.0 support using saxon-ce.js Saxonica makes the leading XSLT 2.0 processor, one version is saxon-ce which runs in browser environment. http://www.saxonica.com/ce/index.xml contains all information ... I am unsure if existing saxon-ce open source license is compatible but I think its worth the try to investigate. I am lodging this bug as there is precedent (pdf.js) incorporating feature using js ... also saxon-ce (developed by the imminent Dr. M Kay) is of exceedingly high quality.
Severity: normal → enhancement
Component: Untriaged → XSLT
Product: Firefox → Core
Summary: add xslt 2.0 processing using saxon-ce which has just open sourced → Add XSLT 2.0 processing using saxon-ce which has just open sourced
We're not really seeing enough XSLT usage to motivate investing in XSLT2.0. Even if we could get an implementation for free, there's still a lot of maintenance cost and integration cost.
