849761 - "invalid directory name" error when I view specific email (/desktop/gnome/url-handlers/GMT+01/command)

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.33 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/27.0.1430.0 Safari/537.33

Steps to reproduce:

There is this specific email which I received recently, whenever I view this email Thunderbird shows a dialog with the following error:

Bad key or directory name: "/desktop/gnome/url-handlers/GMT+01/command": `+' is an invalid character in key/directory names
Bad key or directory name: "/desktop/gnome/url-handlers/GMT+01/command": `+' is an invalid character in key/directory names

This email contained another mail being forwarded. It seems that the error reproduces for any email containing this text:

Begin forwarded message:
> From: "dude name" <[e-mail]>
> Subject: subj text
> Date: March 11, 2013 10:38:57 AM GMT+01:00
> To: [e-mail]



The exact version of thunderbird I use is:
17.0.3+build1-0ubuntu0.10.04.1


Actual results:

error dialog
