Details
I use an ssh tunnel to place SMTP on a non-privileged port while at home
If I don't do this, I can't send any mail.
Please allow the use of non-standard ports in mailnews preferences.

I was able to make that work fine by entering the hostname as "localhost:1111".
It should be more obvious how to do it from the GUI, but it does work.

On the normal "add..." it seems to work
In the Original wizard thing that pops up the first time you start mail/news
It pops up a dialog saying "Please enter a valid hostname" if you have a :port
in the entry.
