We have the opportunity to release a new feature in Firefox, a self-auditing system giving advanced users useful information and tips about the performance of their browser. These users can also share this data with Mozilla so as to help improve Firefox performance. This new feature takes the form of a new in-product page accessible at about:healthreport

The product part of it are a few strings in the Firefox source code, the server-side part is a lang file to translate the UI, explain what the collected values are and give performance tips.

The repository for your locale is:

There is a staging server being set up there:

(Note at the time of filing this bug, the staging server is not autoupdating code and translations yet and is in heavy works since localizers are working in parallel to the webdev team creating this mini-site).

We might release this feature for the next Aurora but that's totally unsure, given that this is server side, we should be able to update the server after we have released the next Firefox Aurora.

Hi Pascal,

we've updated the fhr.lang to change a string (time open), but unfortunately, if the number presented to the right of that string there is a line break, which doesn't look good (see screenshot).

Would it be possible to broaden the space between the labels and the values to avoid this, or do we need to think of a shorter translation?

You could also try to hyphenate so it line-breaks ("Gesamt-Sitzungsdauer") or use something like "Gesamtlaufzeit", which is slightly shorter?

Hi Michael,
Pascal is on holiday for a couple of week and I'm covering for him.

I talked with web developers and the design definitely needs to be more responsive (we have some problems in Italian too). Reference bug is 872673.

In the meantime the easiest solution is probably to find a shorter localization like the one Fred proposed. Not sure about the hyphenation, you may want to try changing the label with developer tools as a test.

Fred: Thanks for your suggestion, I changed the translation to „Gesamtlaufzeit“, which should fix the problem. (r116050).

Francesco: Thanks for the information and for covering for Pascal. Your hint about the developer tools was incredibly helpful, I didn’t know they could be used for that. :-)
