Seth, I'm guessing this is related to bug 716140, but I don't know that for sure. I concur that in all likelihood this is related to the image loading or decoding changes that were made for bug 716140. I'd have to debug it a bit (which I'll get to once I deal with the various crash / image flashing bugs) but I wouldn't be surprised to see it had to do with either broken onload blocking or this test implicitly relying on us decoding small images synchronously on the main thread. Note also that if it's the latter, bug 695763 might well be the right way to fix this if I can manage to get it landed.
