Just a thought, playing with the URL bar. If the navigation toolbar is expanded,
CTRL+L (or equivalent) goes to the URL bar. If it's compressed, nothing happens.
Would it be possible to change things such that CTRL+L gives you the "Open Web
Location" box if the navigation toolbar is compressed?
There's no functionality lost, since CTRL+L would do nothing otherwise. You
could either leave the CTRL+SHIFT+L for "open web location", or remove it.
This way, CTRL+L would always have a standard result- a place to type a URL.
Thanks!
