It happens with stable ver also.
I have page that flickers while scrolling with firefox 20 too.
I guess it's due to graphical hardware acceleration.

I'm getting serious flicker while scrolling in Firefox 20.0.1 using Windows 7. I use several other browsers as well and they do not have this problem.

For me, disabling smooth scrolling makes the problem go away, but I would rather use smooth scrolling.

Disabling hardware acceleration fixed it for me. Options > Advanced > General. Smooth scrolling is still enabled and works, although it's not quite as smooth. Video hardware:
1024MB GeForce GTS 250 (ZOTAC International)
VX924 (1280x1024@60Hz)

For me, on linux its still same flickering even after disabling hardware acceleration & smooth scrolling.
I do not have flicker while scrolling still the release of firefox 21.0. (for now)
I hope it will go on like this.

I updated to Firefox 21 and re-enabled hardware acceleration, and the flickering is gone for me.

For me its still same, but seems little less.

This is bizarre: today the flicker is back. As before, disabling hardware acceleration stops it.

Jeff can you please file your bug as a separete issue? Since HWA does not impact this on Linux I think it's two separate issues, even though the symptom appears the same.
Dhaval, we'll need more details so we can attempt to reproduce this. Specifically how you are scrolling, what device you are using to scroll (trackpad, mouse click, mouse wheel, keyboard, etc), what are your scrolling settings (in Firefox and OS), what distribution you are using, web pages you can reproduce this on, and whether this happens in the latest Firefox Nightly.

I am using mouse wheel to scroll
In OS there is no scrolling option,
in Firefox I have "use autoscrolling (though never used or noticed)", "use smooth scrolling" & "hardware acceleration" enabled.
I am using fedora 18 64bit with mate desktop.
There is no specific page, it happens even on site like getpocket.com & blogs with images. To test I am using internal site with few graphs generated with rrdtool / nagios.
Two days back I have checked, same flicker issue on stable, beta & nightly.

I wondering if this is related to Mate since I'm using Fedora 18 64-bit as well but with the Gnome Desktop. Could you try running a Gnome session to see if you can reproduce?

I am using Firefox tar package. As far as I remember I faced same issue with gnome also, still I'll check again.
Also one of my friend is facing same issue with XP.

I checked with Gnome, there was no issue with gnome shell, but scrolling wasn't smooth as chrome.
When I switched to gnome "force fallback mode", fluctuation reappear & images started to overlap. This happens only with FF whereas chrome works smooth.
Can you pl check with fallback mode & mate?
If this issue is related to Fedora mate & gnome fallback, pl tell howdo I convey?
I have checked with ubuntu also, FF works fine on unity but not on mate.
On Fedora I have used both rpm & tar package.
Also this problem appeared somewhere in 19/20 ver. Prior to that I had no issue.

Hi Anthony,
I downloaded FF15, even it has same issue. This is definitely not FF but has something to do with mate / gnome fallback. But since everything else works fine there may be some changes / settings required for FF to work fine with these desktops.
Can you pl reproduce it with gnome fall back & mate?

Thanks Dhaval, this may be a Tech Evangelism for the MATE project to address. I suggest you report this issue to them via their Support page: http://mate-desktop.org/support/

For sometime I was using gnome & chrome / FF, had no flicker issue.
Recently switched hardware & I don't find this issue with mate also. Probably updates / hardware change fixed it.
