User Agent: Opera/9.80 (Windows NT 6.1) Presto/2.12.388 Version/12.14 Steps to reproduce: i got a notice of a new update to Thunderbird so i said - install - it ran and then i said restart Thunderbird and then i got a message box Actual results: The message box said "Software Update Failed" as a heading with text "The update could not be installed. Please make sure there are no copies of Thunderbird running on your computer, and then restart Thunderbird to try again" I checked and then restarted Thunderbird and got the same message This has been happening since 17.0.2 and then i download a complete copy which clears it and installs the new version Expected results: if you need more please contact me - i am totally computer literate

Hi Wayne I do not know what to say With the upgrade from 31.3.0 to 31.4.0 it has now worked So i suppose close the entry and I will log it again if it occurs again
