STR: * Play something in the music app * Press the volume keys. Expected result: * Volume changes. Actual result: * No change in playback volume. This might be excusable if the music app had some other way to change the volume, but it doesn't, as far as I can tell. This is reproducable when music is playing out of the back speaker or out of the front speaker (music plays out of the front speaker when I plug in headphones, bug 858743). I can't test what happens when music is playing out of the headphones due to bug 858743, but I suspect the situation is no different. Music and DTMF tones are no longer on the same channel (so Bug 822619 is no longer a dup of bug 784184) https://wiki.mozilla.org/WebAPI/AudioChannels

The only thing you can control with the hardware volume rocker is : on or off. on blasts your ears since it's at full volume (bug 870608) Potential lawsuit of ear damage.
Found bug 868932... possible dup of that bug?
Hey Naoki, I am confused as this seems to be working for me. Flashed the device, open music app, play some music and with rocker buttons I can increase/decrease volume. V1.0.1 Build Details: - Gecko: 6fb511d - Gaia: 54dfb62 - RIL V1.01.00.01.019.105 - Device: Unagi Can you please check if this still occurs to you?

I can't seem to reproduce this today at the moment. What I do experience is bug 868932; you can have the music volume and the overall volume on two different settings. ie without playing music turn your volume bar down to 1, launch music, hit the up volume button while playing a song. Alternatively, turn volume down to silent, launch music and hit play. nothing should sound, yet the music plays loudly. This is for all versions.

OK, I have marked bug 868932 as a blocker. Should we close this one as WORKSFORME?

Can you give me until EOD tomorrow to confirm on v1.1 please? I will then move this to worksforme. I was working with someone to get a working leo build for our testers.

Naoki, did you retest this?

Sorry, I got tied with other things. Yes I did. I believe the problem I saw was on a partner's build which doesn't have the latest checkins. I could not reproduce on a more up to date version of gaia/gecko. I rechecked again with today's build just in case. Please reopen if you see this issue.
