Checks basic visibility. Also had to strip windows line endings. I think avoiding initializing sync in general is probably good too.
This should be augmented with tests related to selecting / bookmarking tabs in the grid. But this will require more advanced populating logic to get tabs in there. I'm going to file a follow up that doesn't block my other sync work.
