This is a test system of the SAP Workplace Internet Portal. This same "browser
will be supported soon" message has been in place since Netscape 6 was released
back in November of 2000. SAP is a huge software company. They need to support
Netscape/Mozilla with their Internet portal software.

After receiving the "supported soon" message, you can try to login anyway, but
the pages don't show up properly, if at all.

More information on SAP is available at http://www.sap.com
If you can't get to the main URL link above, then try going in from here

using the link for "IDES mySAP.com Workplace 2.11."

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Load the page
2.That's it.
3.
confirming with win2k, platform/os->All, Priority P1.

mySAP uses IE proprietary code. I see the following errors on initially loading

I received this message from my SAP sales rep regarding supporting Netscape 6.x,
and specifically, the Macintosh.

"With release 6.0 of the portals solution suite, UNIX as well as the Apple
Macintosh with the newest Netscape Browser will be supported. GA for 6.0 is
planned for Q3 2002. This info will be published with the new PAM (Product
Availability Matrix) for Portals within the next few days. The support of
Mac with Microsoft's Internet Explorer is not yet in the concrete planning
status. However, the majority of Mac users are also using Netscape (since
they simply do not like Microsoft), so that should be sufficient for the "first
wave."

Also, I have been told that responsiblity for this product has been transferred
to the SAP Portals organization, which is based in Palo Alto, CA, USA. SAP
Portals is a combination of former SAP employees and the company formally known
as TopTier, which SAP purchased.

I sent an email to Shai Agassi, the CEO of SAP Portals back in July and received
this response:

"Mr. Clark,
Thank you for your belief in SAP Portals' vision and products. As a long
time Mac fan, I can definitely relate to your problems and position. The
browser world was supposed to alleviate the issues, yet with the
fragmentation in HTML tags we are almost back to the same spot where we
started five years ago. We are committed to shipping our 5.0 product on both
IE and NS (NS coming 3 months after IE, due to QA resource constraints). As
to the Mac platform, we might be interested in bringing the Mac community in
to help us support the product by sharing some of the QA responsibility with
us, and providing us feedback as to the issues that are creating the
incompatibility between the platform.
I will take this issue back to the development organization, and come back
to you with a response.
Shai"
Since they plan to support Netscape and Mozilla (see Brian's comments) in their
next release (6.0), setting Target to next July, and downgrading to P2.

Thanks, Brian !

They have upgraded their site and removed the testdrive system, so I guess this
bug is resolved.

I'm on Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.2a) Gecko/20020910

* The URL in the URL field gives me "IDES Testdrive System is no longer available"
* The URL http://www.sap.com/ides/ gives me "Directory Listing Denied".
* The URL http://www.sap.com/ides/index.htm/html gives a 404 error
yup, marking invalid (better imho than wfm / fixed for this particular case)
