1. launch email
2. set email account up
3. open account drawer in the upper left hand corner.
4. select account setup in the bottom left hand corner
5. select account
6. select drop down and change to all messages
7. hit the < in the upper right hand corner
8. select account again
9. look at the drop down

Expected: All messages
Actual: Automatic

Note:
1. it will change to All messages if you select done for step 8 and go back to looking at the account settings.
2. this happens for gmail/hotmail.  I think it may be more of a building block issue?  I may need to dig further and see if I can repro somewhere else.
