rstrong asked me what our plan was for a Safe Mode in Firefox Metro, and I said I don't think we have one. I personally think it's out of scope for v1 but support may find it useful so I'm posting this for Asa to make the call to create a story for v1 or to triage into v2. There are a lot more uses than just disabling addons for safe mode. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode >Safe Mode temporarily affects the following: > All extensions are disabled. Not applicable to us > The default theme is used, without a persona. Not applicable to us > The Just-in-time (JIT) JavaScript compiler is disabled. Is applicable to us > The userChrome.css and userContent.css files are ignored. I don't think this is applicable to us > The default toolbar layout is used. Not applicable to us > Hardware acceleration is disabled. We could have a variant of this to toggle OMTC and possibly more. Also we could add other changes like default preferences perhaps for Metro safe mode. Safe Mode has no effect on the following: The status of plugins is not affected. Custom preferences are not affected.
