This video has uncovered so many bugs that I decided to create a meta-bug: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V1IBH1bz5-c
We've already got a meta bug tracking youtube issues. Do we really need another one? Can't we just use the existing b2g-youtube bug? I want to avoid thrashing here. Note - we don't block on meta bugs, we only block on the underlying issues.
The test video in the description was shared by our device vendor. Their goal is playing the video in its entirety without issues. An all encompassing youtube meta-bug may be too broad for this purpose. It's turning out to be a deep use case finding several issues in the networking, media cache, the hardware codec and output buffer rendering. If you don't mind I'll stay as the assignee and keep it up to date myself.
Fair enough, that sounds fine.
If I apply the patch in 870564 and use the workaround in https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=878977#c1 I'm able to play the full video!
OK, now I have a proper solution for the screen lock that I'll share in bug 879297. In combination with the patch in bug 870564 I'm able to play the video all the way!
I think every guys who check this problem, have tested it with WIFI connection. Is there someone who check with 3G connection? Or... Please use other device's tethering. You can see more severe symptom here.
With bug 877461 and bug 879297 fixed I can now play the the full video on leo!
