Build 2001-06-25-03: WinMe Overview: The same Personal Toolbar Bookmarks viewed in 4.7 do not appear after migrating, rather other bookmarks appear. I'm not sure if this is a migration problem. Summary: It appears that 4.7 uses "bookmark.htm" to display the Personal Toolbar Bookmarks. When Mojo migrates the profile then it uses a "bookmarks.html" file. Maybe it's suppose to copy "bookmark.htm" and rename it to "bookmarks.html" after migration? This creates a problem in my case because my 4.7 profile already has both of these file names so Mojo results in not displaying the same Personal Toolbar Bookmarks as in 4.7. Additiona Details: 1. 4.7: I go to the users 4.7 directory which is in \Program Files\Netscape\Users\nbaca a. There exists 2 bookmark files. I do not know how these two were created. - bookmark.htm 6/26/2001 10:37am (which has 8 personal toolbar bookmarks) 4.7 appears to be using this file since I see 8 bookmarks in Navigator. - bookmarks.html 6/22/2001 1:05pm (which has 2 personal toolbar bookmarks that I have not used for a long time) 2. Migrate to Mojo and the two files are copied over into the \Windows\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles\nbaca\randomcharacters dir - bookmark.htm 6/26/2001 10:37am (which has 8 personal toolbar bookmarks) - bookmarks.html 6/26/2001 11:26am (which has 2 personal toolbar bookmarks) Mojo appears to be using this file since I only see 2 bookmarks and the date of the file changes each time the Browser opens.
Adding Naoki to the cc list. I remember him doing some bookmark migration related work lately.

Bug 55022, the problem is translated 4.x "Personal Toolbar" cannot be recognized by non localized 6.x. Probably, not related to this bug.

Is this the same bug? 1) Start with a default mozilla profile. 2) Remove all bookmarks in Manage Bookmarks. 3) Choose File -> Import bookmarks and import the below attached bookmark file. Result: The personal toolbar still displays the old default personal bookmark entries and a restart of mozilla does *not* cure it. Notice that the file that is imported has a folder named Personal Toolbar which is the same name as in the default bookmark file.

This bug is filed in a bugzilla component related to pre-Firefox code which no longer exists. I believe it is no longer relevant and I am therefore closing it INCOMPLETE. If you believe that this bug is still valid and needs to be fixed, please reopen it and move it to the Toolkit:Startup and Profile System product/component.
