Details

From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:0.9.1+) Gecko/20010627 BuildID: 2001062706 We have keyboard accelerators for the "Go Back", "Go Forward", "Reload" and "Stop" buttons in the Navigation Toolbar. Can we give keyboard accelerators to "Go" & "Search" buttons as well? The reasons behind: 1. When the keyboard focus is NOT on the URL bar, I want to "Go" to a page as shown in the URL bar. 2. When the keyboard focus is NOT on the URL bar, I want to "Search" the Internet for the words in the URL bar. We can do "Go Back", "Go Forward", "Reload" and "Stop" without having the keybord focus on the URL bar. It would be nice if we extend that keyboard convenience into the "Go Back", "Go Forward", "Reload" and "Stop" buttons as well.
i so don't want this? it doesn't make sense in average cases. ctrl-L <enter> should work for go. for search, ctrl-L;<up>;<enter> probably works.

How about Alt+a for search (underlined accesskey letter).
There is no "Go" button anymore.
Summary: Keyboard accelerator for "Go" & "Search" buttons → Keyboard accelerator for "Search" button
actually, there is: you can add the Go button to the navigation toolbar from the Navigator pref panel.

Search is dup of/covered in bug 62067
Neil, what do you think we should do for it?

(In reply to comment #5) > actually, there is: you can add the Go button to the navigation toolbar from the > Navigator pref panel. Okay, but even then you can use the Enter key to activate that. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 62067 ***
