From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:0.9.1+) Gecko/20010630 BuildID: 2001063006 The bookmarks tab in the "My Sidebar" displays nothing, as if it wasn't open or I have no bookmarks. The pull down bookmarks menu works fine, and shows all of my bookmarks. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start Mozilla 2. open sidebar bookmarks tab 3. note that there are no bookmarks 4. Pull down bookmarks menu from top; see the bookmarks there Actual Results: The left sidebar was just gray. Expected Results: showed me bookmarks. Email me and I can send you a screen shot. This has not worked since an upgrade to a nightly build some months ago. I can't believe that everyone else is seeing it also, otherwise it would be fixed by now. Or does everyone turn off the sidebar ? If it is somehow part of my preferences, tell me the name of the preferences file and I will mail it to you.

From 0.9.2 release notes : If the bookmark item in the sidebar doesn't work, remove the bookmarks tab from the sidebar and then re-add it. Click on the "Tabs" button in the Sidebar and select the Customize My Sidebar menu item. In the resulting dialog, remove the bookmarks tab, hit OK and restart Mozilla. Go back to the Customize window and add the bookmarks tab. (Bug 71685) *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 71685 ***

I don't think this is a duplicate of bug 71685, in any case the solution there never worked for me (I tried it when that solution first appeared, as well as just now). Adding and removing bookmarks from the sidebar without restarting Mozilla did not work; specifically, once I removed the bookmarks there was no way to re-add them. (Back when I first noticed this and bug 71685 appeared, I could remove and re-add the bookmarks to the sidebar, but that didn't fix the problem -- I don't remember whether I closed and re-started Mozilla in between or not.) Now, having re-started mozilla again, if I click on the tabs button I don't even get the menu that allows me to customize the sidebar. I will try another profile, and wait a couple of builds and see if it's still there; then maybe I should report a separate bug for that.
