SVG sprites render much slower than png on the following page: http://codepen.io/adrianosmond/pen/LCogn Chrome had similar performance disparities and fixed the bug recently: https://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=253091 They produced a minified test-case: http://philbit.com/sprites2.html
