I think we had a similar issue before that was fixed, sounds like we don't take effect until the browser is closed and re-opened.

I followed same steps as above. I am still bot getting expected result.

Hi Brian, Do you need regression window?
Flags: needinfo?
Sure that would be helpful if you have time.
Flags: needinfo?
Tested on Windows 8.1 preview for the latest nightly.

User Agent : Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.2; Win64; x64; rv:25.0) Gecko/20130710 Firefox/25.0
Built from http://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/rev/04d8c309fe72

Still I can see same problem. I will try tomorrow for regression window.

If I understand correctly, the issue reported in comment 0 is that the "Remember passwords" setting only controls whether Firefox offers to store new passwords; turning it off does not erase previously-stored passwords or prevent Firefox from filling them in.

This is by design as far as I know; desktop Firefox uses the same logic. I'm resolving this because I don't think it's a bug in Metro Firefox. If we want to change the Firefox password manager behavior, we should file a new bug against the "Password Manager" component in the "Toolkit" product.

Didn't work for me.

Tested on Windows 8.1 preview for iteration 10 using latest nightly from ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/nightly/2013/07/2013-07-22-03-02-26-mozilla-central/

I followed user story given in bug 831962 and didn't get expected result. Old password and emails were auto-filled.
story say that "New passwords are not saved and old passwords do not auto-fill"

Asa, it seems one of our stories is in conflict with default browser behavior (see comment 8). Curious if we can close this one out and touch up the user story for testing?
Flags: needinfo?(asa)
OK. That story is wrong. Our desktop-like behavior is correct.
