Details

I've had the omtc pref on on Mac for a while before it was turned on by default, and ever since I flipped it I've been seeing rendering glitches that are very hard to reproduce but quite noticeable, in places such as gmail, about:newtab, XUL trees, etc. I don't know how to provide more information here, but we should not ship this web browser!
Needinfo'ing Matt to see if he is working on known issues that may address your concern or any other ideas or debug builds he may be able to provide to understand the issue in a better way
Flags: needinfo?(matt.woodrow)
I think Ehsan should weigh in on this again. Jeff Muizelaar and him looked at this the other day, and I believe determined that the problems were with the site itself, not the browser. 'Breaks all rendering' is also a bit of an exaggeration :)

Also I was under the impression that the OMTC is enabled by default in Fx24 ? Can someone confirm if that's not the plan ?
Our current plan is to disable OMTC on Aurora next week, because there's been lots of work done on it in m-c since.
So, every time I connect my machine to the external monitor, something bad happens. Today I showed a bug to Jeff where there was a scrollbar and what seemed to be corrupted graphics buffers on the left side of about:newtab.

Our investigation did not result in anything concrete unfortunately. > 'Breaks all rendering' is also a bit of an exaggeration :) Yes, perhaps, but it's hard to characterize the problem here in a better way.
Given, OMTC will be disabled in Aurora shortly(matt will have a patch up soon) not tracking this for Fx24. Ehsan/Matt, For this to be a tracking bug there needs to be something actionable or atleast s reproducible case.Given we are not there yet but since this could be a potential problem could we have a debug build that Ehsan can run which may throw some light here or any other ideas here ?
I would be happy to try out things. It's just that this is not a browser I would ship. :-)
Actually I'm now fairly convinced that this is a dupe of bug 870941.
