From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:0.9.2) Gecko/20010628 BuildID: 2001062815 Javascript can often be a real pain in the a$$, but some sites really require it for full functionality. It is annoying to constantly switch it on and off, so a "disable Javascript for this site" switch would be very nice. Disabling javascript also tends to disable any ad banners on a site, which is definitely a bonus. No more annoying "punch the monkey" ads... Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Go to a page 2. Observe dynamic Javascript based ad banner 3. Disable Javascript 4. Reload 5. Observe nice, fast-loading ad-free page. Yay!

Thanks for the research, Jesse. "Punch-the-monkey" is a very appropriate description. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 38521 ***

Punch the monkey (or the more cruel shock the monkey) are actually done with Java, not JavaScript...

while that may be true, the ad is still loaded using JavaScript in 99% of the cases I've run into it... so disabling JavaScript disables all ads, including Java, Flash, mgif, gif etc

Depends on: 86932

Umm this is not a dup of bug 38521. That is about a toolbar for the pref, this is about a front end for bug 86932 like image manager and cookie manager

basic, did you mean to change the platform and OS to All? please comment in bug 90363. If so, please let us know which build you were using. We're having a problem with mozilla corrupting form data.
