User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:22.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/22.0 (Beta/Release) Build ID: 20130625173050 Steps to reproduce: I set my gmail account and waited, or tried to use the software normally. I am on Archlinux, with the last stable version of Thunderbird, 17.0.7-1. Actual results: The software froze if it is on online mode. If I starts the software and put the offline mod before it freezes, I do not experience the bug. Expected results: The software should work normally. If I try to debug the software with the logging procedure mentionned here: http://email.about.com/od/mozillathunderbirdtips/qt/et_mail_log.htm I see the software stops on: -934287616[7fa2cedfbdf0]: d0314800:imap.googlemail.com:NA:CreateNewLineFromSocket: * CAPABILITY IMAP4rev1 UNSELECT IDLE NAMESPACE QUOTA ID XLIST CHILDREN X-GM-EXT-1 UIDPLUS COMPRESS=DEFLATE ENABLE MOVE CONDSTORE ESEARCH It could be an imap problem

what happens after you go online, if you disable constore while offline by setting mail.server.default.use_condstore to false (prefs | advanced | general | config editor) ?
Severity: blocker → critical

No changes, the bug is still there
someone recently reported gmail problems but I forget where and in what context :(
On bugzilla ? Otherwise, this bug is not recent. I just reported it, but I've been experiencing it for about one year.
safe mode https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/safe-mode Do you still see the problem in a newer version 31 started in safe mode?

Ok I forgot to report the fix here. What I did was to uninstall the stable version, install the Aurora one, uninstall it, and then reinstall the stable version. I don't know why, but it fiew the bug, a while ago.
