897900 - HD: bookmark icon in homescreen is not sharp

Since we fetch website's favicon as the default icon, the icon looks very low-res in HD device.


steps: 
1. open browser, browser some web site
2. click star mark, select 'add to homescreen'

back to homescreen, the bookmark icon is not sharp (check the `google` icon)

I just talked to Patryk. He says you can try to find a larger icon on their website but other than that there isn't anything we can do on our end.

I would prefer not blocking the release with this unless we have some feasible ideas to do this.

Is it happening for every site or just sites that do not provide good quality thumbnails?

It will effect all sites since site's favicon size is limited (normally 16x16).

I've talked with Neo and he suggest to use the same manner as we did in tablet project. (Provide a quality default icon and Not put thumbnail on top of it).

As an FYI. Fav icons vary in size... 16, 32, 48, 64px. However many websites only have 16px, but most top tier websites moved to multi resolution fav icons. I recommend using the favicon for now. 

The alternate would be if we could take a screenshot of the website and make that into a thumbnail on top of a circle icon. Our competitors do this.

Using an icon for a saved webpage defeats the purpose of an icon, as you may have 3 or 4 of the same icon on your grid... it becomes much harder to distinguish between them.
