Details

Currently when visiting the Aurora download page (http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/channel/#aurora), the download link does not specify the architecture for Android. Only ARM is offered, when we are shipping x86 and ARMv6 based Aurora builds. In particular this is problematic for newer devices with Intel® Atom™ x86 as they would crash on startup when running an ARM based package (we currently crash on start-up).

This came to my attention when I told an x86 to download Aurora; they installed the build off of aurora.mozilla.org and it was a invalid build for their x86 based device.

If we're looking for more users, we need to supply them with an easy way to download the appropriate builds. Navigating the FTP is not the answer.

Hi-

I think what you are describing is a dupe of this bug
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=758698

Where the user interface is so poor on the Aurora page that users can't tell if they are on the mobile/table or desktop version of the page.

Could you please take a look?

Thx,
Jen

No that is not what I'm describing. We currently only offer ARM based downloads when we are shipping ARM, ARMv6, x86. The wrong build downloaded for the wrong device can be problematic.
