RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 892485

(Reporter: msth67, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:22.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/22.0 (Beta/Release)
Build ID: 20130620135945

Steps to reproduce:

Open the history sidebar (Ctrl+H),type a search term in the search box (this is easier to observe IMO if attempting to scroll the history for a single website,e.g. "mozillazine) ,start to click on all history links from the top down.

Actual results:

Starting from Firefox 21,visited links do not scroll following a predictable, regular progression from top to bottom:instead the highlighted link jumps erratically up and down the history list in the sidebar, and new links are added between the one just clicked and the next highlighted link, making impossible to cycle through all of them following their natural order.

This also happens in the Library, although it's easier to notice in the sidebar.

Expected results:

Once the history sidebar is opened and a search word has been typed in the sidebar search box,it should be possible to sequentially go through all history links regularly scrolling from top to bottom.

I've copied the exact Firefox profile and tested it with Firefox 20,no issues with history scrolling is visible:as far as I can tell, this surfaced in Firefox 21.

Sorry if this sounds confusing:it is probably the same issue, however in my case the sidebar does not scroll to the top,the highlighted (scrolled) link moves up and down the history sidebar, kinda unpredictably.

Also, after reading https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=874407#c18 I've made a quick test with firefox-23.0b8 (build ID : 20130722172257) and I'm still seeing the exact same issue, even in safe mode.
