User Story:
As a user, I would like to be able to simultaneously select multiple recipients from my contact list while composing an email to avoid having to select multiple recipients, one at a time.
Acceptance Criteria:
1. When choosing a contact to add to the recipient list from my Contacts list, I can chose one or more contacts to add, simultaneously
2. If I add recipients to an email and proceed to choose more contacts from the Contact list, I visually see which contacts have already been added to the recipient list
3. If I add recipients to an email and proceed to choose more contacts from the Contact list, I cannot add contacts which have already in the recipient list
Note: this bug has a dependency on Contacts implementing multi-recipient contact selection.

asuth,
Allowing duplicate of contacts is exist on single contact selection scenario as well.
Would like to know your opinion on the point number 3 of description, shall we create a new issue for this scenario or shall we include the fix in the same issue.
Please let us know

Yes, the contact picker currently has no idea what e-mail addresses are already listed in the recipients list, so it's possible to add duplicates via the current mechanism.

Adam Rogers (:arog) is the product manager for the e-mail app and is in charge of the user stories, so I'll leave it to him to give the official answer.
I will say that it does look like bug 950644 (thanks for adding that as a dep!) does not appear to address point 3, so depending on what happens on that bug, a separate implementation bug and/or user story may be required for that.

To support acceptance criteria #3 in the user story above, it seems that there would be a fairly significant increase in complexity. Since there would be no new problems created (and no existing problems solved) by ignoring AC #3, I would tend to take that route.
All that being said, I am not sure that this is the right mechanism to increase the ease of adding contacts to an email unless the user is adding several sequential contacts (rare in practice).
